Hello everyone...I have been viewing the forum from a far for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say, you all are a vast wealth of knowledge!! My husband and I are in the process of getting a male pup from Julie (pup fr Aron +Trudi). We are very excited soon to be parents..We both commute to Seattle and were hesitant to bring a new member into our family given our at times crazy schedules, however with some recent changes in my schedule and some discussion w/ Julie and other dog owners who commute, we decided we could make it work for us and our new little guy.
We are spending our weekends researching dog books, websites and supplies. We also have plans to meet w/ a trainer here in N Kitsap before bringing him home. It sure is a small world, turns out Cedar's (Cedar is from Julies kennel) owner lives just around the corner from us and Leanne actually works at the same hospital as me! I have to say we are looking for a great family companion, but we are interested in learning more about agility and other competition events. Not that I am competitive or anything, but feel we really are getting a boy w/ some good genes and I would love to see what he can do!
We chose the GSD for several reasons. I grew up w/ the best GSD, he was my dad's police K9- and my best friend as youngster! Historically I have since had pound pups, wanting to provide a home for a pup and avoid having it put down. I have had great dogs-husky/boxer mixes, shephard mixes, but had to deal w/ health issues and bad hips. Additionally we wanted a dog that was smart, protective and kid friendly-with a known disposition. We searched other breeds, but found that the GSD best met our wish list. We found out about Julie from our dentist here in Poulsbo. My husband felll in love w/ pictures of their black GSD and stories of how their dog was a companion, family member and protector to their children.
Admittedlly we are a little concerned about how smart these dogs are, but feel assured that with the training we will get, our little guy will do well in our home. We are firm beleivers that it is actually more of an issue of training us, rather than the dog _________________ Sherene |

Hi there and welcome.
You will love your new baby and at times he will drive you absolutly insane! But man, is it a lot of fun!
Plus, I think you will get one hell of a pup with that breeding.
I don't believe in coincidences a lot. To me, things do happen for a reason and I am always amazed by occurances that make me go - how cool! _________________ Gisela & Gang (all of them!)

Welcome, Sherene! I can't wait to see your beautiful new boy! How cool that you & Leanne work at the same hospital. I love my Aron/Sindy boy (Dakotah vom Banach). He is wonderful! _________________ Barclay

Yeah!! Hi Sherene Glad you made it and great intro onto the forum. I still am amazed by all the twist of events and connections that came to be. First your Dentist and then Leanne and you working at the same place? I am sure Leanne will love having another GSD fan so close to her. You are so far ahead in getting a great start! Enjoy the forum and feel free to just jump in anytime! _________________ "Wag more, Bark less"

Welcome to the board, Sherene! You have a beautiful name, by the way. As Tracy mentioned above, I'm getting a male puppy from Aron/Trudi litter too. How cool is that! We will post pictures and will be able to watch the brothers growing up, and support each other when the little alligators are shredding our anckles and hands
From my experience with German shepherds the most important thing is to exercise their mind as much as their bodies. Bored German shepherd is a disaster. _________________ ~Oksana

Welcome Sherene!
Trudy and Aron are both wonderful dogs with excellent temperaments. The first time I visited at Julie's home I met Trudy and her first litter. They were wonderful and she seemed to be a great mom.
My pup (5 mo old Aron x Sindy) is a wonderful dog. _________________ Michele
