I have always loved the bi-colors. But somewhere along the way I ended up with all sables... _________________ Gisela & Gang (all of them!)

I really like ALL the colors that German Shepherds come in. Fate sent me the first solid black dog I had and fate (or something close to it) sent me Pharaoh. _________________ Michele

I have to say I really LOVE the bicolors, as long as they are dark and rich... not just an overly-saddled black and tan. So many of the good old DDR dogs (Held v Ritterberg, Rex v Haus Iris, Cliff v Geraufer and others) were good bicolors, and it seems you just don't see as many of these any more since sable is dominant. Oddly enough, when I bred Voxi v Haus Iris (bicolor) to Yake v Schwarzhorn (black-factored sable) I got three solid blacks and a bicolor out of the breeding
But I like all the colors as long is they're rich and dark. Black and red is of course my least favorite, but even some of those catch my eye when they're very well-pigmented and rich. _________________ Judy Malone

I would have enjoyed meeting this bi-color:
V Dargo von den Thuringer Kronjuwelen
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/61807.html
The pictures I have seen of him are very impressive as well as his accomplishments.
I was able to meet a son of his (Baron) and watch him work. I have to admit the dog had the hallmark DDR head on him. _________________ Sal

Sal,
Dargo was also one of my favorites. Sadly, he also passed through many homes. That seems to be the price of fame and beauty.
There is a woman in NY state that has his frozen semen. _________________ Michele

Here are some current pictures of Tika, she is growing up. She blew her coat and came into heat, so she looks a little rough.. We had a hard time stacking her, these are some of the better ones..
Jyl and I did some tug work with her and she is pretty crazy when she bites. She gets this funny glazed look in her eyes. She is going to be pretty serious I think..
She has two more weeks in basic obedience before she graduates. She is doing really good and learning a lot.

Uh oh--guess I better start watching Toots for signs of coming into heat as well. Tika sounds just as rotten as her sister! These are tuff little bitches, no doubt. Toots is no longer allowed to play with the daycare dogs because she is too reactive when there is activity on the other side of the fence. She is smart, and she likes to work, but look out sister if she has her mind set on something!!

You can see her attitude in the pics.

Has Toots been in heat yet, Jessica? I didnt get Tika until January so I didnt know if she came into heat once already. I dont think so, as she acted pretty weird, and unsure..
Tika is already trying to be the most dominant. And I have 3 other females, of which she is the youngest. 2 Corgi's and 1 Shepherd. My Shepherd is a showline, and she is very mellow so no challenge there, but my older Corgi is EVIL to Tika and Tika pretty much takes it. The Corgi tries to take the toy from her and she won't let it go, even if Emma attacks her. (Emma is a witch) Although Tika and Dayzee, the younger corgi are best of buds.
