Took Lucy in for an Xray the other day... she was 86 lbs, and the films showed so many puppies they couldn't get an accurate count - anywhere from 9-11. Poor girl is too fat to make it up on the bed, so I set up her swimming pool and gave her the comforter off my bed. She's fat and happy in her pool now! Will keep you posted. _________________ Judy Malone

Thanks, Julie - she's the best! And the countdown has started- she's off her food and her temp's down, so I'll be up all night I'm sure. _________________ Judy Malone

Well, it's 9:30 am here, and we have 10 healthy babies; 2/2 black; 4/2 sable. Lucy is a super mom and looks oh-so-content with her little masterpieces:)
When everyone is good and dry and you can see they're not little black rats, I'll try to get some pics. But first, I have to change their bedding, then a nap for me. We need an emoticon with a yaaaawwwwn! _________________ Judy Malone

HAHA - those are great emoticons!
This is an update, cross-posted, so forgive the repetition...
Delivery was great, last pup born at 9am; I gave a shot of Oxytocin at 11am, and nothing happened so I was sure she was done, right????
Wrong...
Two hours later, she started contractions again, but wasn't passing anything. So off to the vet we went. Since I was unschedulaed and a "walk-in" I played vet-roulette, and came up with Dr Quinn. Not my favorite vet, as he never smiles, but he's a good vet all the same. VERY ONE-TRACK MIND and does NOT multi-task (as in THINK and LISTEN at the same time). In case you're wondering, this is crucial to the story, so bear with me and poor Dr Quinn here...
He palpated and said he didn't feel a pup, nothing moving in there. Did a vaginal and said the canal was clear...
I looked square in his eyes and said "I'm not leaving til we get an Xray. I HAVE to be sure." So Xrays revealed a big pup still in her. I asked Dr Quinn "What do you think... Give her a shot of Oxytocin and give her about 30 minutes? Don't want a C-section if it can be avoided, but I don't want to take any unnecessary risks either."
After a long pause (accompanied be VERY blank stare, he said "I think we should start an IV, give her a shot of Oxy and wait about 30 minutes and see if she can pass it." I about fell on the floor. The vet-tech was laughing her butt off behind my dog's file folder. When Dr Quinn left to go order up the Xrays, we cracked up.
Fortunately, she WAS able to pass that 11th puppy (dead sable male), but she did NOT have to have a C-section, and she and the babies are doing fine on their Valentine's day red blankie.... SEE>>>>>>>>>>
