Hi - I am getting a pup from Julie Marlow and she told me about this forum. I have been observing for a couple of weeks and decided to join in. I got my first GSD about 25 years ago and together we began our working career competing in the 2nd French Ring Sport trial held in the states. I really got hooked on Ring and got into the decoy work. In fact I was the first "female" to certify as a French Ring Decoy in the USA. I have enjoyed many different dog activities, and after a few years of a medical hiatus I am anxious to get a pup and be more active in dog sports. I am really looking forward to owning a GSD, especially one as fine as a Vom Banach dog. Thanks Julie - Hope Exa is doing well! |

Yeah!! Hi Patty!!
So cool you came on! This is a very fun forum and now Jamie will have someone to chat Ring with. I am sure she will come on and welcome you in no time, Her dog is Foenix I told you about and she trains also with Rick!! ( Jamie Patty and Rick go WAAAAYYYYY back!!)
Poor Exa is so big you just want to pant for her. She is really close now. I will temp her before I go to bed tonight and see if it has come down anymore. She was just at 100 this morning which is down from her normal a bit. Everything is ready for her now though so we are in good shape.
I had an appointment for her for Friday to be x-rayed but I am canceling it tomorrow. She is just too big and I do not want her being lifted up on the table or rolled on her side. I think that would just be too uncomfortable for her and I don't think the techs really could get a good hold of her without partially lifting on her belly ......so we are going to just stay home and wait it out. I'll call you in between or email you if I get a chance once we get started and have a break.
Welcome to the forum here! You have so much experience to offer!! Very Cool!! _________________ "Wag more, Bark less"

Welcome, Patty.
Are you getting a male or female pup? Are you planning on doing Ring with it?
I am getting an Aron/Trudi pup from Julie.
You can see his pictures in the DDR Youth Males section. His name is Mako. |

Thank you for welcoming me to the forum. I plan on getting a female pup and I just NOW got updated by Julie and Exa is in LABOR! This is a bit of a surprise since she was not due until the 25th. I hope all goes well, this is her first pregnancy and she has a good mommy to help her. I plan on doing some Ring training, I would like to get a"Brevet" with her. This is the first level in Ring Sport competition. My main goal is to have a happy, healthy, active, versatile dog. I would be interested in checking out some new avenues that I am not experianced at. Right now I am feeling like a nervous mommy waiting for a healthy baby. _________________ CustomK9 Academy |

WOO HOO. GO Exa!!! I didn't think she looked like she was going to make it until the 25th when I saw her on Saturday. I think she will be a great mother. She is SO good with the ALLIEgator it is amazing. With as much cr@p as she takes from Allie, how could she not be a good mom to her own babies. |
