For those of you who've followed my moving saga...
after 5 months of delays and hurdles, the new property is finally mine. We closed this morning at 10am, so the move is upon me now. This is a good thing and a bad thing.
Good that I finally get to move, closer to a good Schutzhund club, herding club, agility, my dad and my very good friend Val. Good because this current place was really starting to need some serious repairs and upgrades that I didn't want to put into something that's not mine, and that I couldn't take with me.
Bad because of timing - I'm sick with some kind of nefarious stomach virus, for 5 days now (no nurse lectures, please ) I'm too weak and dizzy right now to move anything but a bucket of dog food and a water hose.
My friend who was going to help me with a LOT of my moving had to be hospitalized and had emergency kidney surgery last week, so he's out of the loop now. And after all this waiting and waiting and waiting for the seller to get all her paperwork straightened out, I should be so happy and excited, yet I'm filled with dread at the moment.
I know it will all get done, and I know I'll be happy with the new place, but there's just so much to do now, I don't even know how to start. So I just sit and look at the pics of the place and imagine what it will be like. The previous owner needs two weeks to get out. So by then I BETTER be in good shape to get this done, huh?
For those who haven't heard about the place, it's just shy of 4 acres, 3 acres of which is beautiful pine forest, anf the other acre is maintained lawn. The house is 1248 SF, 3BR 2BA, beautiful wood floors, fireplace, LOTS of cabinet space, some glass-front natural wood kitchen cabinets and a pantry, indoor W/D connections, wood decks in front and back, with two outbuildings and a free-standing double-carport that will make a SUPER puppy play-yard! It's about 1 mile from Lake of the Pines in northeast Texas north of Longview and Marshall.
When I get moved, I'll post some pics. _________________ Judy Malone

A big congratulation!!!!! Even your not feeling that well, I'm sure all will turn out fine at the end and you'll be happy to have your own place for you and the dogs.
If I was not that far from you, I would come and give a hand!!!!
Good luck with the movement and take care of yourself.
I'm a nurse, I'm not going to give you any lecture, just take your time and take care.

WOWEEEEEE!
This sounds like a paradise!
Moving is hell, but this time, you will own the destination you are moving to.
Congratulations, you worked hard for this. _________________ Michele

MOVING IS AWFUL.
I just moved, and it is a pain. Jyl and Phil have helped me move more times than I can count and now I own my own place so no more moving.
Judy, If I lived closer, I would help you. I am sorry I dont live closer, as I know the stress of it all. And I only have 6 dogs and 6 cats.
CONGRATULATIONS on the new house. I am so very happy for you. It is a wonderful thing to think "This is it, this is where I will spend the rest of my life."
Keep us posted...

Thanks, Guys -
I do know you'd all help if you could, and I appreciate it.
I know it will happen, it's just a rather overwhelming thing at the moment.
Thanks again. _________________ Judy Malone

Congratulations, Judy! I hope you start to recover from all the funk you have had. I know it will be a ton of work, but it will be so worth is once you are settled in. Good luck! _________________ Barclay

Wow Judy, that sounds wonderful. Your dogs will have a great place to run around and you will have an amazing place to call home. I hope you feel better already.
I too would love to help if I could. Too bad you are so far away.
Take care!!

WOW Judy, a move is hard enough but to be sick on top of that is even harder I sure hope your feeling better by now? If I didn't live far from you I would help you move too. I definitely know how hard it is to move dog's and kennels around. Best of luck with your move _________________ Kelly S

First moving day is here (Saturday). I'm headed up north with a load of kennel materials, and will be out of pocket Saturday and part of Sunday probably (recovering). I'm feeling better, but still DREADING this move!
Maybe after the first load, I'll feel envigorated. Of course the other drawback is Heidi being due next Friday - I'll have to take her on the road with me or stay at home with her until she whelps, so I may get one more load done Monday then wait for her to whelp... _________________ Judy Malone

Hi Jamie -
Thanks for the wishes. First trip is done, and it wore me out. It was an 8-hour drive each way. And there is SO much to be done, things I didn't KNOW had to be done. Like fencing. This place has at least three different kinds of fencing, and most of the fences are not even connected to one another. I don't know WHAT they had going one there, but it'll have to be fixed. The ground is much different from what I'm used to as well. VERY SOFT. The ground up here in the Hill Country is very very firm. So I'll have to concrete my kennels so they can't dig out in 5 minutes.
It WILL get done, but right now it is overwhelming to look at all I have to do. Just overwhelming. _________________ Judy Malone
